Prada was started by Mario and Martino Prada. The brothers in 1913 as a leather goods shop. they imported goods from England as well as made handbags. The brother Mario didn’t think that women should be involved in business so he prevented any female family members from joining the company. Mario’s son wanted nothing to do with the company, his daughter Luisa Prada ended up taking over the company and successfully running the company for over 20 years.
