The History of Shell Oil Company

Shell Oil company actually started out as two companies that kept their respective names but merged for business purposes…Royal Dutch Petroleum Company and the “Shell” Transport and Trading Company Ltd of the United Kingdom are the two companies that came together to form Shell.  Shell was started by  Marcus Samuel, 1st Viscount Bearsted, and Samuel Samuel. I wonder how many people in the world have the same first and last name…seems like a pretty cool concept….like Jones Jones or Bright Bright. Samuel and Samuel were brothers and their father owned a Sea Shell Trading Company so they used a shell as the logo for the company. There’s a lot more to this company…..enjoy reading The History of Shell…….Click the link.
